Appearance-Mara looks very much like she does in the picture, however, even with the ears and tail, she is not someone you would pick from a crowd as anything special. She is about 5'8" and weighs around 127 pounds. Her ears are the same color as her muddy brown hair and so she pretends that they are just part of a cool hairstyle she invented. The tail, albeit a bit harder to hide, she pretends is just a clip on. She sometimes will stick a pin into her beige shorts, just to complete the cosplay image. Her skin has a slight brown hue to it because there is a very thin layer of fur covering her entire body. It isn't noticable from far away, but if you touch her, you can feel it. She also has neck fur, but she pretends that is just part of her clothing, like a fur coat or a scarf of some sort.
Her eyes are a hazel color that seem to change color depending on the whether. They don't really change all that much, but when it is cold, they seem duller and when it is warm, they are lighter in color. She usually wears beige shorts and a yellow, sun-colored top. She does have another outfit that is for her contests. It consists of a white halter top and white jeans, along with no shoes. She wears this to match her starter pokemon.
Personality-Mara is a very strange girl. At times, she can be extremely outgoing; ready to do anything that she can to help. She can also be headstrong or hardheaded, not listening when others are talking to her and blatently ignoring what's going on around her. This can be dangerous, as sometimes she will not notice certain things. She has a scar from one such time where she decided to fall down a small cliff and strike her leg on a rock. She can also be quiet and mysterios. She hates being touched or hugged, which could be a sign of autism, but if it is, it is a very minor case. Her senses are heightened because of her species and this can cause her to sometimes cover her ears or wear sunglasses if she is overwhelmed with sights or sounds.
History- She was born in Firestone city to a very loving family. Her Grandmother, when she was alive, was the Nurse Joy in Firestone, hence Mara's last name. Her mother chose to stay with her maiden name. Her mother was an engineer, working hard at one of the factories, and her father was a retired trainer who worked a part-time job as a cook in a local restaurant. She had two older brothers and a twin sister. Her brother were both gone by the time she was 5. hey both became gym trainers at the Ryutanna Gym. Her twin sister dissapeared sometime before they both turned 6 and she hasn't seen her since.
When Mara was 7 years old, she wandered off into the desert on Route 6. Her family was on a camping trip, or that was the premise, anyway. Her father was actually looking for a rare stone and her mother was helpnig him find it using one of her devices. Mara wandered out of view of them and was caught in a sandstorm. Her mother and father looked for days, but to no avail. They had lost both their daughters now. Her father died soon after of heartbreak. Mara's mother went to live with her sister in Ryutanna City to stay close to the boys. She never found out what happened to Mara.

In that sandstorm, she wandered into a cave for a shelter, as she was a very resourceful little 7 year old. In that cave, there was a scientist and she was caught in his trap. For 4 long years, he weaved a web of deciet and lies. He pretended to try and find her family while he worked on an expiriment. An expiriment that would change Mara's life forever. Soon it was time. Time for his test run. He brought Mara into a secret room and strapped her to a table. He shot her with a needle, stabbing the liquid deep into her body, but the outcome was not what he had planned for. Instead of being a pokemon, Maa had become a mutant of sorts. She was half pokemon and half human. She ahdn't yet awoken and so the scientist took her out of the cave and left her in Sakura Forest. When she finally awoke, Mara found herself in a strange new place, but her wonderment didn't last long. Sakura forest was full of pokemon she had never seen and it scared the 12 year old.
Mara encountered a young man when she started to explore and he led her to Kaisha town, not even questoning her as to where she had come from. He brought her to his mother and there she lived for another 4 years. Neither of them ever talked about her origins and she was glad for that. Someday she would try to find her family and when that day came, she would be a great trainer or coordinator. 4 days after her 16th birthday, she started her journey around the region...
